Abstract

On October 12, 2002, Indonesia suffered a major terrorist attack in what would be known as the First Bali Bombing. This thesis explores the critical role of organizational culture in facilitating effective cooperation between the Australian Federal Police and the Indonesian National Police during the first Bali bombing investigation in 2002. This research employs qualitative research methods specifically focusing on primary data in the form of corresponding journals, books, articles, and documents related to cooperation between the Australian Federal Police and the Indonesian National Police to gain valuable insights into organizational culture and cooperation dynamics. This approach allowed the author to examine and interpret the data comprehensively, thus providing a deeper understanding of the topic. By analyzing key case studies, this research aims to explain the importance of fostering a shared organizational culture and building strong relationships to enhance international law enforcement cooperation. The main finding is the impact of cultural differences, strategic cooperation, and collaborative practices on the success of joint operations between the two law enforcement agencies. The findings of this research provide valuable insights and recommendations for future collaboration in counterterrorism efforts between countries.
