dc.description.abstract With the development of technology, we are able to accomplish things much faster. At the touch of a button, we can access large amounts of information due to the capability of computers and the internet. Not only has technology given us more information, but it also enables us to communicate, organize, and manage our time. Home control that covers the monitoring of household appliances and the control of features such as doors, gate, and even windows can now be done using computer and internet. This project is a demonstration of how to design and build a multipurpose home control and automation system that can switch on and switch off any electrical household appliances connected to the network. The result of this project shows that a microcontroller is a very powerful device in building a smart electronic device. The device can automatically control the lamps and deliver the status of door and window. The air temperature is also measured and can be monitored. The ability of the microcontroller to be connected to internet enables a home control and automation from any place as long as the internet is provided. en_US
