dc.description.abstract Manual switching is not efficient way for future people living, it waste time and in some cases it does not safe for the user. The main objective of this project is to give easiness life for people using automatic lamp switch. The usage of Passive Infrared Sensor to sensing surrounding area to detect and determine the next action. Passive Infrared is not emit any wave but only receive infrared change radiation, so that sensor will not disturb human activity. This device using microcontroller AT89S52 as main processor and it is equipped by timer. This timer will be utilizing in the device to set time interval. Time interval is time period which allowed sensor will not detect anything during lamp stay on. This timer will avoid lamp for blinking due to crowded people in a room. User can input time interval using keypad and it will be displayed on LCD 16x2. en_US
