Abstract:
This study is conducted to find the level of internship training satisfaction level at Mandarin Orchard Singapore Hotel. Internship had been reputed to reduce future workforce’s amount due to unsatisfactory experience. Eight parameters had been pointed out to shape the overall internship training satisfaction level: personal skills received from training, critical thinking and problem solving ability from dealing with customer related situations first hand, enhanced social relationship from interns to hotel, effective communication between supervisor, manager and trainee during work, effective time management gained from daily experience, self-confidence boost from appraisal and recognition, and self-motivation gain from the whole internship process. Researching these factors in Mandarin Orchard Singapore Hotel had indicated the level of their training success and the interns’ satisfaction level. Total average satisfaction level is 2.96 which indicates four parameters rated below average: social relationships, critical thinking, problem solving, and self-motivation. With overall satisfactory results, improvement could still be made especially in developing and improving manager’s skills to better satisfy interns’ overall experience. The researcher suggest that Mandarin Orchard Singapore’s managerial staff require improvement in their leadership skills, communication skills, and management skills to increase interns’ satisfaction level in the four lower than total average mentioned parameters above.
