dc.description.abstract With the enforcement of UNCLOS 1982, Indonesia win its’ claim over archipelagic state status and has earned itself a vast body of water as its’ territorial extension. That also exposes Indonesia to the looming maritime security threats that had long existed at sea such as piracy, illegal fishing, and drugs trafficking. To maintain its security, Indonesia as a sovereign entity, deploys several security agencies to keep the threat at bay, one of said agency being Indonesia Maritime Security Agency. Thus this thesis explores the major maritime security issues as well as how Indonesia delegates its’ security agencies authority to handle the issues. The main focus of this thesis is how BAKAMLA, as one of the security agency, contributes towards managing Indonesia maritime security in the context of eliminating the issues at hand. en_US
