dc.description.abstract Plastic pyrolysis has great potential as an energy converter, especially for plastic waste, so it is necessary to look for pyrolysis kinetics data and determine appropriate operating conditions. Pyrolysis is not a novelty; however, a majority use fossil fuels as the heat source. Therefore, improving pyrolysis by using an electrical heater will provide a great solution for the environment to acquire data for renewable energy sources such as solar panels, wind and hydro technology. The objectives of this experiment are to determine the optimal temperature that results the most yield using an electrical heater and to determine the correlation of high-density polyethylene mass with the oil yield at the optimal temperature. The reactor design phase was assembled using ss400. Pre-treatment phase by collecting plastic waste, cleaning, drying and cutting. Optimal temperature determination with variables of 350, 370, 390, 410, 430 and 450°C in 60 minutes using 100 grams of plastic. The optimal temperature is 430°C. According to the experimental results, it is known that the most yield at 430°C resulted was 100 grams in 120 minutes which resulted in a py-oil calorific value of 11048 kcal/kg. At the optimum condition, 2.8kWh of electricity is needed. en_US
