dc.description.abstract Humans live in a society that is developing at a tremendous pace, but still face simple problems such as forgetfulness. This problem can be solved using Internet of Things. The proposed idea is to create the smart home system to do monitoring and controlling using efficient resources. The monitored parameters are: temperature, humidity, movement’s activity, LPG gas, flame, and electronic equipment's status. The NodeMCU ESP8266 is used as microcontrollers to retrieve data from sensors and to control the actuators in the system proposed. In this work, there are 3 microcontrollers, to monitor the kitchen, bed room, and main room. The kitchen will be monitored for gases, flame, temperature and humidity. The bedroom will be monitored for temperature, humidity, and movement activity. The main room will be monitored for the electronic equipment’s’ condition. All microcontrollers are connected via internet to a local server made by using Raspberry Pi where all of the data will be stored, and the system will be connected to a cloud server in order to create a way to send the data across network. So, it is possible for the user to monitor from anywhere in real time, using the smartphone. After 4 to 6 trials, the 3 microcontrollers are able to exchange data with user’s smartphone perfectly. In these trials, the temperature varied by 0.1 °C, the humidity varied by 1%. The flame, gas, movement activity sensor, and the relays are able to exchange data perfectly within these trials. en_US
