dc.description.abstract Bushing is a machine component or equipment that has function to facilitate linear or rotational movement between two parts. Bushing on the Removal arm of Apex VMI used brass material with life span of two years. To increase the lifetime of the bushing to reduce downtime due to maintenance. This final project discusses about change of the bushing that was originally made from brass into other materials that have longer lifetime. The method used in this research is study literature, material comparation, calculate performance capabilities, heat developing, depth of wear of bushing, lifetime of bushing material, and lifetime of bearings. The result of this study is the use of nylon material is suitable as a substitute for brass material was previously used for bushing in the removal arm of Apex VMI. en_US
