dc.description.abstract Environmental problems began to be a conversation in the political world. One environmental problem that deserves attention is global warming, which is the result of human activities, such as deforestation, which threatens the survival of all living things. The international world is also involved in dealing with this problem. Prevention by the United Nations, which is an international platform, is the formation of an environmental regime that encourages countries to ratify it with the aim of helping to overcome emerging environmental problems. Germany and Indonesia are examples of countries that have responded to these environmental problems through cooperation, namely FORCLIME. FORCLIME is a program that aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the rate of deforestation and forest degradation in three regencies in Kalimantan, namely Malinau, Berau and Kapuas Hulu. In implementing its program, FORCLIME uses the implementation of REDD + to achieve the objectives of this cooperation. Furthermore, the aim of this research is to study the objectives behind the cooperation between Indonesia and Germany. This research was conducted using qualitative methods because the data collected came from books, journals, articles, and government websites. As a result, the authors find that the reason for developing cooperation is because of the same interests and obligations of each country in contributing to the reduction of gas emissions (GHG) as indicated by the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol. The author recommends this collaboration as an example because it will benefit not only the country but also the environment. en_US
