At present, waste is become the spotlight for the environmental problem in this earth, because it is considered to be a serious problem that causes all countries in the world to have a direct impact. This is what drives waste to become an international problem that needs to be addressed immediately. This can not be considered trivial, because one of the greatest potential impacts of waste is the ability to increase the level of emissions gas, which is one of the causes of global climate change, and is very influential in what has been written in the Paris Agreement. The increase in population growth will be in line with the increase in the amount of waste production, which makes Indonesia become one of the biggest contributors of waste in the world. As long as humans are still alive, then the production of waste will continue. That makes the Government of Indonesia aware of the threat posed by waste in Indonesia. On the basis of the Indonesia’s Environmental Diplomacy, this research will discuss about the participation of Indonesia, in particular the Government of DKI Jakarta, in dealing with the waste problem that was regulated by Law No. 18 of 2008 on waste management and its relationship with Law No. 16 of 2016, concerning on the approval Indonesia of the Paris Agreement on climate change in the form of implementation of waste management in DKI Jakarta, and one of the forms of implementation is with the Waste Power Plant in Bantargebang dan ITF in Sunter. |
