dc.description.abstract Title: The Role of Indonesian Diplomacy in Protecting Indonesian Worker in Malaysia during Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono First Period of Presidency The issue came up after so many victims of Indonesian migrant worker in Malaysia. Indonesian government need to step up, do whatever it takes to protect their migrant worker which called "Pahlawan Devisa" How's the law that regulate the protection of the migrant worker, because many victims of violence keep increasing? How's the coordination between every stakeholders? Why Indonesia didn't ratify the ILO Conventions? The problems of migrant worker could be a time bomb in bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia. It needs the seriousness to handle the problem from both sides and Indonesia need to play strong diplomatic way because it seems that Indonesia is in the weak position. Why does it say like that? Truthfully, Indonesia needs the migrant worker to increasing their GDP, but in other side, it just feels like it shows Indonesian failure to create job vacancy or the quality of the people is low, since many migrant workers who work in Malaysia are housemaid, the job with low qualification. Plus many illegal worker that come to Malaysia to find a job, because, when they work in Indonesia, the wages monthly was really low. It is a paradoks condition that Indonesia need to be solved, and the most important thing is the protection of the worker must be prioritized. The purpose of this research is to analyze the role of Indonesian diplomacy in protecting the migrant worker in Malaysia during Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono first presidency period. As his campaign jargon called "Bersama Kita Bisa" means we can do or we can solve every problem as long as we stick together. en_US
