Abstract:
Indonesia's relations with other countries are categorizing good, because Indonesia is a non-block country which makes it easier for Indonesia to interact freely with other countries. However the case of accusations from countries who are members of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) about human rights violations that occurred in Papua became a big question for the world concerning Indonesia. Indonesia which since 1961 became an official member of United Nations has obtained and proven its position to the world. It is convincing that Melanesian Spearhead Group’s countries verbal intervention is something that Indonesia does not want to and evens other countries, because it destroys the image of Indonesia and violates the United Nations charter in governing international activities between countries. Therefore this thesis aims to analyze the role of the Indonesia both at domestically and internationally to overcome this problem. It is expected that this thesis can also provide clear information and analysis on how the role of Indonesia to resolve the allegations and help to maximize efforts to prevent Indonesia from similar cases in the future. This thesis uses qualitative methods in how to analyze and obtain results in the research. And this thesis uses descriptive and analytical research methods in viewing the real evidence as the main source of research. As the whole, this thesis explains the role of Indonesia in defending its position as a sovereign state in the case of allegations of human rights violations in international relations perspective
