dc.description.abstract Tenun Ulos is a traditional woven cloth of the Toba Batak Tribe. Tarutung City is located in North Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. Ulos weavers are generally housewives and Batak girls who want to increase their household income. However, nowadays the profession as a weaver of ulos has been widely used as the main profession of the Batak tribe, especially in Tarutung District. This study aims to determine how to increase the income of ulos weaver to ensure the future of ulos weaver and the role of the government in supporting ulos weaver. The research method used in this research is a qualitative method. While the method used in data collection is in-depth interviews, namely by conducting direct interviews with informants. The results obtained in this study indicate that the creativity of ulos weavers is the main key to developing the selling value of ulos. The government's role in providing ongoing training and support is needed to ensure the future of Ulos weaver in Tarutung City. en_US
