The Millennium Development Goals consists of eight goals which focus on the welfare of the citizen, eradicating poverty included. Based on the reports made by the United Nations Development Programme, China is chosen as one of the countries with the largest contribution to the decrease in number of extreme poverty. This research focuses on analyzing and describing the successful strategy of China in alleviating the number of people living under the poverty line from the year 2010 until 2015 through the use of qualitative and descriptive method. The writer uses sources such as books, journals, news sources and electronic resources as a reference to write this thesis. From the collected data such as China’s Five-Year Plan program, it was shown that China has put their focus on using fiscal, industry, social and credit funding to improve its soft infrastructure and hard infrastructure through their national and international projects to achieve the set goal from the Millennium Development Goals.
