dc.description.abstract |
Thailand is one country where transnational organized crime such as human trafficking has rendered as major threat and serious problem. Thailand also known as key of source, transit, and destination country for women and children, for both labor and commercial sexual exploitation including sex tourism. Boys and girls were trafficked from neighboring countries such as Burma, Cambodia, China, Lao PDR, and Vietnam to Thailand for sexual exploitation or known as Commersial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC). To create more effective measurements in addressing the issue of CSEC, many activists who concerns on the issue involved, integrating and working together with government in the form of transnational advocacy networks (TANs). The thesis explains that in order to eradicate the CSEC in Thailand, the actors involved in this network are implementing TAN strategy in addressing the issue through the global advocate campaign called 'Stop Sex Trafficking of Children and Young People' achieving three goals namely, Achievement on prevention; Achievement on legislation and law enforcement; and Achievements on Support Services. |
