dc.description.abstract There is no denying that the escalating conflict in Syria has imperiled the life of millions Syrian people. At the moment, an estimated 13.500.000 Syrian people are in need of humanitarian assistance including 5.800.000 children. The searing images of Syrian civil war affecting children have disseminated through social media and media portals calling for urgent actions from the global citizens. However they are not able to halt the children from brutal violence. Syrian civil war has left tremendous trauma for the Syrian children after a large number of heinous and massive violence such as killing, maiming, and exploitation against them. This thesis focuses on the elaboration of an international organization, particularly UNICEF, in combatting injustice in conflict areas in Syria during civil war. The time frame is started from the year 2011 to 2015. It is hoped to present sufficient data to answer the following research question: How has the UNICEF as the world.s most legitimate children and youth alliance mapped out its strategy to help disadvantaged children in Syria during the past 5 years (2011-2015)? The main objective of this thesis is to examine the pivot roles of UNICEF in infusing equity towards children in conflict areas in Syria through its applied strategies, designed programs, and overall performances. The result of this research shows that amidst the unswerving battle, the UNICEF as the world.s most recognized platform for children protection has appeared to show its credibility to help the humanity in Syria. Through its unwavering commitment, the UNICEF has performed to assist the poor humanitarian condition in a diverse range of aspect such as health, education, children protection, and etc. As an international organization, the UNICEF has proven itself credible to exercise its influence in international sphere. To some extent, the UNICEF as an organization can stand equally with the state actors in the scope of humanitarian intervention and peace creation in Syria during civil war. As part of its solemn commitment, the effectiveness and humanitarian strategy of the UNICEF are continually improved in a verifiable parameter to ensure children of the world enjoy the basic rights. en_US
