ASEAN as the one of the largest communities in Southeast Asia which has put the ASEAN policy-making process regarding the case of Rohingya ethnicities that occur in Myanmar. The reality is that ASEAN does not have the power to solve the problem completely even though ASEAN has instruments such as the ASEAN Charter due to non-interference, the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission Human Rights, but all of these things can be disputed and do not do much due to the principle of non-interference. This research is analytical and descriptive research using qualitative research methods. The results of this study indicate that ASEAN with its AICHR has effort in to resolve the humanitarian crisis. However, the AICHR has made efforts in human rights violations that occurred in Myanmar through diplomacy and also ASEAN needs to build a mechanism for handling refugees based on agreement, cooperation and consider the provisions of international law regarding the mechanism of handling refugees themselves and ASEAN itself has shown that ASEAN countries have set certain effort to handle Rohingya refugees due to humanitarian crisis. |
