dc.description.abstract The purpose of this research is to analyze the support of international actors for the government of Nigeria in dealing with Boko Haram, especially in assisting the government to rescue the kidnapped Chibok girls from 2014 to 2017. Boko Haram is an insurgent group that was born due to social injustice, economic inequality and political instability that occurred mostly in the northern part of Nigeria. This group eventually carried out radical movements with the main purpose to change Nigeria into an Islamic State by committing several acts of crime. One of the most known crimes that managed to attract international attention was the kidnapping of 276 Chibok schoolgirls. There were a lot of efforts made by the government to release them, but they were ineffective. Therefore, international actors, such as the United Kingdom, United States of America, France, Switzerland, ICRC and UNFPA offered assistance to Nigeria to solve the case. To gain a deeper comprehension about the chronology of kidnapping and the role of international actors in the case, this research uses some theories to explain it. As theoretical frameworks, the author has chosen to use the theory of Liberalism, Human Security and Counter-insurgency. This research is written by using qualitative approach and mostly descriptive method. The findings of this research show that the international actors mentioned before have assisted the government in forms of providing military assistances, joining negotiation process, providing physiological treatment, conducting a global meeting and providing war equipment. After years of trying every possibility, the involvement of international actors turned out to be successful. Hundreds of girls were finally freed after years of being kidnaped by Boko Haram with the help of this international cooperation. en_US
