dc.description.abstract “God is a Woman” is a single by Ariana Grande from her fourth album called Sweetener. The music video was controversial for having unusual imagery and sexuality which combined to show a powerful womanhood. The purpose of this research was to reveal the meaning behind “God is a Woman” music video and how feminism values were represented in the music video. To analyze the selected scenes and understand the hidden meanings, social semiotics research visual analysis by Kress and Leeuwen (2006) was chosen to be utilized in this research. By conducting this research, the researcher found that the representation of feminism values were served through the visualization of Greek mythologies, colors used, analogies, and the touch of an iconic feminist; Madonna. The researcher also revealed the meaning that can be excerpted from this music video was that Ariana tried to speak up for gender equality. en_US
