Abstract:
Time management is a problem that needs to be solved as time goes on as the modern society demands more and more value out of everyone’s time. To answer this problem, applications are developed to remind and to manage events or task that the user must attend to. However, sorting and sifting through tasks might be a chore that many cannot do properly without the right framework. This paper aims to integrate task prioritization framework into time management application to further increase the efficiency of time management and reduce the workload needed to rearrange tasks manually.
To achieve the purpose of this paper, researches into time management from psychological perspective, neurological basis of context switching, and scheduling algorithm are done. Points of these researches are then concluded and developed into an application. The resulting application is then reviewed whether it has achieved its intended purpose of increasing time management efficiency and reducing task sorting workload.
Results showed that through the use of Eisenhower Matrix and priority-based scheduling algorithm is important in developing application that can automatically sort and schedule tasks. The tasks are sorted and scheduled using priority-based algorithm with importance and urgency vectors used in Eisenhower Matrix.
