Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is one of the digital solutions that can simplify human life. Artificial intelligence has also been applied in several sectors such as education, manufacture, and accessibility. The application of artificial intelligence can now also be implemented on various platforms, such as websites, mobile apps, and even smart cars. Therefore, artificial intelligence can be a solution for sectors that require automation or recognition in the system to be created.
As artificial intelligence technology develops, more and more sectors are utilizing artificial intelligence. One of them is the accessibility sector. Application developers are already able to apply artificial intelligence in the form of sight, reading, and speech aids. This concept is a revolutionary that can make life easier for people with disabilities. In addition, application development using artificial intelligence can also expand access to assistive devices for people with disabilities through technology. Therefore, this project was created in order to accommodate the problem stated before, especially the blind, to help them to read.
This project will build a mobile android application that aims to detect text and handwriting and can be extracted in a form of text. This application is also a tool for people with disabilities, especially the blind to help read the text of a word or sentence. This application has a real-time text detection feature by utilizing Vision AI by Google Cloud as one of the APIs of cloud computing provided by Google.
