Abstract:
As a third-party logistics company for PT. ABCD Motors. PT. XYZ Logistic
Indonesia oversees managing the warehouse of thousands of car parts. Thus, PT.
XYZ plays a crucial part in delivering car parts in time to the assembly line of PT.
ABC Motors. The purpose of this study is to propose improvements to the locations
placement of car parts in overflow using Class-Based Storage based on
classification based on ABC analysis. This is done because items that are often used
are located quite far from where the operator is located. Makes operators have to
increase their working time. The types of car types stored in the Overflow area are
202, Common Parts, 210 and 113. Class-Based Storage is a storage system that
clarifies car parts into several parts. ABC analysis method is used to be able to
divide the area based on the level of use of car parts. Area into three classes, namely
class A which is closest area, class B is between class A and C, class C is in the
area farthest area. The results of implementing Class-Based Storage analysis can
reduce the displacement distance until 52,3 meters and the time is reduced into 107
mins
