Sexual harassment refers to any form of sexual expression that is conducted unilaterally and that the person who is the target does not expect to cause negative responses such like shame, fear, anger, offence, or trauma to someone who has been a victim of sexual assault.
Despite the fact that the number of sexual harassments in Indonesia keeps rising, some people still view sexual harassment to be a small personal matter. Moreover, during the pandemic in 2021, sexual harassment cases continued to rise.
Many cases of sexual harassment are revealed on social media as a result of significant development of today's technology, eliciting both pro and con opinions in society's view of sexual harassment. When victims of sexual harassment discover their experiences on social media or in person, many deny the allegations and even isolate the victims. As a result, more sexual harassment victims are afraid to speak up about their experiences and prefer to remain silent.
The goal of this webinar is to raise public awareness about sexual harassment in Indonesia. Based on this, a webinar was created to educate the public on the many types of sexual harassment, how to prevent it, and how to build moral and mental supports. The Aware Setter team is conducting a webinar with the theme "Raising the Awareness of Sexual among Indonesian Society." Sexual harassment is a global challenge since it can harm a country's morale. This webinar is designed to minimize cases of sexual harassment and raise public awareness in order to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 5 "gender equality" and number 16 "peace, justice, and strong institutions," respectively. |
