Abstract:
The quality of a product depends on the process of making it start from the raw material through one or more processes until it is delivered to the customer. PT. L. Indonesia is one of the manufacturers that have to produce a Toy in Indonesia, the current quality in Pack Out area has an impact quite significant in PT. L Indonesia. The number of scraps is 400.8 tons per September 2021 in total scraps in the Pack Out area. The research was conducted to reduce the scrap using the Taguchi method. The parameters used to determine the optimum result were Temperature, Sealing Time, Cooling Time, and Pressure and it was based on the brainstorming with the technician and the engineer. The result of the experiment will be analyzed by using ANOVA, verified by using Predict Taguchi Result in Minitab and real testing process in the production area. Since there was a strong interaction between Temperature and Sealing Time, thus, the parameter would have followed the pattern. This research has proved Taguchi method is reduced the total scrap from
400.8 to 290.5 tons or by 27.52%. and total cost of scrap from IDR 3,642,033.60. to IDR 2,404,233.60. or by 66.34%.
