Abstract:
Sports Industry, especially soccer, is one of the business that heavily relies on human resources. In order to maintain a good control over the club’s human resources, a proper Human Resource Accounting is required. Human resource accounting's major goal is to aid club management in determining the effectiveness and efficiency of their human resources. Determining the efficiency of the athletes is crucial, especially the competitiveness of the professional soccer world, so a proper human resource management strategy is required for management’s decision making. The team management have to value and record their athletes. Thus, the goal of this research is to look at how human resource accounting is used in the soccer industry. Researcher calculates the transfer value using Trinomial Tree Method and Black Scholes Model to present the more appropriate human resource value. FC Barcelona has already recognized their athletes’ registration rights as an intangible assets in reference to IAS 38. The result is used in impairment test of the athletes when the new contract is formed by comparing the calculation value to the market value. In essence, combining the trinomial approach and the Black Scholes model will produce a better outcome for valuing soccer players in the Football Club.
