Abstract:
Graduation ceremonies are important turning points in students lives and are frequently
attended by large crowds. Keeping track of attendance at these events can be difficult and time-
consuming, especially when using conventional techniques like sign-in sheets or roll calls. The
objective of this research is to develop a web-based graduation event attendance system using
QR codes to improve the accuracy and efficiency of attendance tracking. A QR code is a kind
of matrix code or two-dimensional barcode created by Denso Wave, claims Soon (2018). Since
they can be quickly scanned with a smartphone or other device, QR codes offer a distinctive
and practical way to keep track of attendance. Each attendee's attendance will be tracked by
scanning a special QR code created by the proposed system, which will produce one for each
participant. Information about the number of attendees will be updated in real-time. The
system's usability, effectiveness, and compatibility with various hardware and operating
systems will all be evaluated in the study. The results of this research will contribute to the
development of improved attendance tracking systems and provide insights into the use of QR
codes for this purpose.
