COMMUNITY SERVICE REPORT EEZ-PRO (ENGLISH EDUCATION ZONE) PROJECT "ENGLISH FOR BETTER FUTURE"

Abstract

Education is one of the main points that determine human quality. Therefore, education is one of the targets and important aspects of achieving the main goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is important because the improvement in the quality of education, the greater the opportunity for a person to get a decent career and job to be useful for himself and others. English has become an international language in several countries, such as Indonesia. However, the use of English in speaking and reading in everyday life in Indonesia is very low. Although it is not an obligation, this greatly affects the quality of human resources. This can be seen from SDN 02 Gandaria, which no longer requires English learning for basic students. Also, there are no adequate facilities for elementary school students to develop their English language skills, With this issue, the EEZ-Pro team moved to help facilitate the school by building a reading corner with more than 100 English storybooks and holding six meetings on the topic of basic English learning also used planting class as one of the activities that can be applied for the first grade of the elementary school. This has been implemented and runs smoothly and received a good response from teachers and students.
