Abstract:
Hybrid work offers a work-life balance with the flexibility of working from home
or the office, which is particularly appealing to Generation Z due to their priority
on work-life balance. This study aims to analyze the influence of family, health,
leisure, and friendship on the work-life balance of Generation Z in a hybrid work
environment in Jakarta, with a focus on the mediating role of work stress. A
quantitative research methodology was employed, using a structured questionnaire
distributed to 232 valid respondents. The findings revealed that family and health
significantly impact work stress in a hybrid work setting, thereby affecting work-
life balance. In contrast, leisure and friendship were found to have insignificant
effects on work stress. These results highlight the importance of understanding how
different factors contribute to work stress and, consequently, work-life balance of
Gen Z employees. Organizations should consider these dynamics to create a
supportive environment that fosters well-being, reduces stress, and promotes work-
life balance for Generation Z in a hybrid work setting.
