Abstract:
ccording to survey conducted by TirtoID (2022) with Jakpat, 39.39% of Gen Z
changed jobs within 12 months of working duration. In addition, Jakarta holds the
highest province with the turnover rate in the type of employee as the main status
employment with 83.3% of the Gen Z turnover rate (Badan Pusat Statistik, 2023).
Gen Z, defined as those born between 1997 and 2012, brings unique expectations
and behaviors to the workplace, significantly different from previous generations.
This study explores the influence of work-life balance, work environment, and
salary satisfaction on the turnover intention of Jakarta's Gen Z workforce, with
employee well-being as a mediating factor. Utilizing a quantitative methodology,
data were collected from 183 Gen Z employees in Jakarta, each with a minimum of
three months of working experience. The analysis was conducted using SmartPLS
software. The findings reveal that work-life balance, work environment, and salary
satisfaction positively and significantly affect employee well-being. While work-
life balance and work environment alone exhibit a negative but not significant effect
on turnover intention, their impact becomes significant when mediated by employee
well-being. Salary satisfaction demonstrates a negative and significant effect on
turnover intention both directly and indirectly through employee well-being. These
results underscore the critical role of employee well-being in mediating the
relationship between job-related factors and turnover intention among Gen Z
employees in Jakarta.
