Abstract:
The Smart Flood Mitigation Management System for Resilient Communities is
designed to address the urgent issue of flooding in the industrial district of Cikarang.
Currently, the area faces continuous threats from frequent flooding due to fast
urbanization, inadequate drainage infrastructure, and poor land use planning. This has
resulted in severe economic and emotional consequences for the residents, including
financial losses, property damage, and long-term psychological effects. The lack of an
official early warning system and well-organized evacuation programs leaves the
community vulnerable during floods, with significant challenges in communication,
evacuation, and property protection.
The proposed system seeks to revolutionize flood management in the district by
introducing real-time data collection using flood monitoring infrastructure with modern
IoT sensors. Advanced predictive analytics and machine learning are utilized for precise
flood prediction, enabling residents to receive timely and accurate information to prepare
for and respond to floods. Furthermore, the system includes a comprehensive community
engagement platform for effective coordination and information sharing during flood
incidents and optimizes evacuation route planning based on prompt flood observations.
By addressing the current shortcomings and vulnerabilities, the Smart Flood
Mitigation Management System aims to significantly reduce the impact of floods on the
community, enhance response capabilities, and improve overall resilience to flood-related
threats.
Through this abstract, the system promises to offer a comprehensive solution for
the challenges faced in the industrial district of Cikarang, providing a new paradigm in
flood management for resilient communities.
