ANDROID-BASED POETRY GENERATOR APPLICATION THROUGH ENGLISH POETS SUGGESTED AND WORD IDENTIFICATION

Abstract

Literature serves as a global medium for people to share ideas, emotions, and stories, bridging some cultures and eras which can transcend the bounds of times. Literature captures the essence of human experiences, offering timeless inspiration and intellectual engagement. Among its many forms, poetry remains a significant and an enduring one in the world of literature. Poetry stands out for its structure and rhythmic language, along with the alignment of its use of metaphors, imagery, and symbolism. Poetry helps mankind express their emotions and help them convey their feelings through their brainstorming ideas and exploring the creativity that lies within them. Although poetry is often undervalued in today’s society, it has experienced a revival aided by social media platforms that enable poets to share their work with larger audiences. The methodology used to develop the final project is Rapid Application Development (RAD). This methodology is used to minimize the planning stage and maximize the prototype stage which results in greater efficiency and faster development of the Android-based poetry generator application. This study explores the development of an Android-based poetry generator application conveyed through suggestions from the infamous works of various English poets and the technique of word identification. The application utilizes advanced algorithms and a comprehensive database of some poetic works, suggesting words and phrases that primarily inspired by classic English poetry. Additionally, the application provides users with lists of poetry genres, writing styles, and English poets to enrich their creative process. Future enhancements could include expanding the poet database, adding a rhyme checker, and developing an iOS version to reach broader users.
