DEVELOPING COLOR PICKER AND PALETTE GENERATOR TOOLS USING THE JAVASCRIPT PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE

Abstract

Color plays a tremendous role in human’s life, especially in how people react and respond to things around them. Related to business, industry, and information technology, color is a subtle yet powerful communication tool as it can affect how people think, how they feel, how they interact with one another, and how they make decisions. Perceiving colors is very subjective due to different cultural backgrounds and the exposures that people have. As a result, color-naming is not universal, especially because there are approximately 16.000.000 different colors in the spectrums that are existent in the world. This can pose problems for people whose works are associated with the use of colors, such as web designers and visual artists. It is therefore urgent to develop a tool which will be able to assist users in choosing and defining colors. This project is developed to facilitate users in deciding the accuracy of color spectrums they would like to generate for professional purposes. In other words, this project is aimed at facilitating users to choose colors they need through the color wheels. Furthermore, this project is aimed to provide explanations regarding the elements needed to develop the color picker and color palette, and what contributions that the proposed tools have for users. Suggestions for future works were provided based on the conclusions drawn in this project.
