WEB-BASED E-VOTING APPLICATION WITH RSA ALGORITHM

Abstract

Voting is a solution when facing a situation to choose someone in an organization or make a decision in a discussion. The most common voting system that people worldwide have used is the paper voting system. A spontaneous voting system is also often used to decide on a choice or opinion in a simple discussion. Over time, the misuse of ballot papers in the paper voting system has increased causing fraud against the voting system and the result. Following technological development, the manual voting system has evolved into the modern one with more practical Electronic Voting or E-Voting applications to reduce the possibility of fraud and manipulation. The existence of this application needs to be accompanied by a higher level of security because it does not rule out the possibility of errors beyond the user’s control. In this final project, the built E-Voting application will be website-based and completed with the Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) algorithm to enhance the security of the voting system.
