dc.description.abstract Culinary diplomacy has emerged as a powerful tool for fostering international relations, utilizing the cultural significance of food to bridge gaps and increase mutual understanding between countries. This research analyzes the Indonesian government's culinary diplomacy during its chairmanship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 2023 as well as the G20 Summit. Through a comprehensive analysis of diplomatic initiatives, collaborations, and the roles of key actors, this research aims to understand the theory of culinary diplomacy through the Indonesian Presidency's meetings at the G20 Summit and the ASEAN Summit's gala dinner agenda. Drawing on the rich literature on culinary diplomacy, ASEAN summits, and international relations theory, this research builds a theoretical framework to guide its exploration. Methodologically, a qualitative approach was used, using data from official government statements, media reports, and previous research. The analysis focuses on the activities Indonesia undertakes in culinary diplomacy and the function of culinary diplomacy at international meetings through the Gala Dinner. The findings show culinary initiatives spearheaded by the Indonesian government, including culinary exhibitions, collaborative events, and culinary education programs. These efforts are examined in the context of their contribution to enhancing Indonesia's image and promoting ASEAN unity. This research contributes to the growing literature on culinary diplomacy by offering a detailed study of Indonesia's approach within the framework of the G20 meetings and ASEAN summits, particularly the Galla Dinner. It underscores the importance of culinary diplomacy as a soft power tool and its potential to strengthen international cooperation, national image, and cultural exchange. en_US
