Abstract:
Nowadays, people intends to make an activity become easier, such as turning off a lamp without reaching the home electric socket. This project will create a bridge to solve the problem mentioned. The objective of this project is to design a device that can turn on or off an electrical socket via remote, and in this case the author chooses to use an IR as the medium. This project will use a 4017 as a decade counter to differ between appliance on and appliance off. Also a pair of IR LED and 38 kHz receiver as the sensors. For the remote, a NE555 timer
will be used as the frequency producer (38 KHz). Since the receiver and the transmitter (remote) are in the same frequencies then connection will be made and will trigger a relay which planted on receiver board.
