The bilateral relation between Indonesian and the German government has existed since 1958, where Indonesia is one of Germany's priority partner countries in the context of international cooperation. Since November 2013, the development cooperation between Indonesia-German focused on three priority areas, namely Energy and Climate Change, Inclusive Growth, and also Good Governance and Global Network. The overall sustainable development cooperation is in line with what is contained in the Millennium Development Goals 2015. This thesis will analyze the role of GIZ as the development agency that is assisted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development in implementing the Forest and Climate Change Program (FORCLIME) which supports Indonesian government in developing the policies and strategies in dealing with various issues on forests and climate change in Indonesia. This thesis is written using qualitative methods to analyze and get the results of the cases studied. There is also a combination of descriptive and analytical research in order to see the real evidence as the primary sources in writing this thesis. Hopefully, the results of this thesis will explain in detail how the researcher provides comprehensive information and analysis about the role of GIZ through FORCLIME in supporting the Indonesian government to create a better forest management policies, see the position of Indonesian as one of the countries that has the largest tropical rainforest in the world, and also as one of the most important factors that could increase the country's economy. |
