Abstract:
Commonwealth Bank is the result of a merger of two banks: which are Commonwealth Bank and Artha Niaga Kencana Bank in 2007.This study aims to determine the CAR ratio, LDR ratio, ROA ratio, ROE ratio, and NIM ratio of Commonwealth Bank before and after the merger. This type of research is descriptive research with qualitative approach. Methods of analysis of data presentation using comparative analysis for this study comparing conditions before and after the treatment. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data from interview the employee of Commonwealth bank and the annual financial statements of Commonwealth Bank in the period prior to the merger, that is 2004-2010 and annual financial statements before merger of Comonwealth Bank in 2004-2006. The period after the merger using the annual financial statements of Bank Commonwealth Bank in 2008-2010. Data analysis in this study using the analysis of five indicators: the ratio of the CAR, LDR, ROA ,ROE and NIM. The result showed ROE ratio increase,LDR increased and CAR ratio increased due to the provision of credit on the SMEs. While the ROA and NIM will going to worse after merger.
