Abstract:
Businesses exist to meet the needs and wants of a society. A business is any activity that seeks to make profit by providing goods and services to others. And in this era of globalization, business environment has been developing to be highly dynamic with high risk and uncertainty. Researchers have found that these performances of failed businesses are predicated on several factors. PT 3M Indonesia plant for the first time conducted performance appraisal for plant supervisor to identify which competencies attributes the highest quality through triangulation data; questionnaire, in-depth interview, and focus group discussion, based on their supervisor competencies that are performance management; coaching and influencing; problem solving and decision making; listening and communication; recognition; and building trust and credibility. The result showed that questionnaire has different result from in-depth interview and focus group discussion, where questionnaire showed coaching and influencing has the most influence in the plant, and in-depth interview and focus group discussion showed that listening and communication pay the attribute in the plant.
