Abstract:
Every year since 2007, Media Asuransi Magazine always do the election of Best Insurance Companies. The election based on analysis of financial performances from every types of insurance companies by Lembaga Riset Media Asuransi (LRMA) through several criteria as the tools. Based on the election, PT. ABDA Insurance Tbk became the leader for General Insurance 2011 with category total equity 100 – 250 billion rupiah. This study has a purpose to from which criteria PT. ABDA Insurance won from its competitors and explore the strategy needed for PT. ABDA Insurance Tbk to maintain its leader position in the upcoming year.
This study uses qualitative research. This kind of research allow the researcher to conduct interviews with participants in the field that related to the topic – insurance field for this research. Questions and answer of the interviews used to generates hypotheses to produce findings. The data got from the magazine will be analyzed and typed up, then converted into words based on the interview results in order to get the findings needed.
There are 5 (five) highest ratio that PT. ABDA Insurance got compare its competitors. Four questions in the first interview will be the basic to know what the ratios that PT. ABDA Insurance won (answer problem statement number 1). Two questions from the first interview, second interview, business scanning tools such as SWOT and PEST analysis are combined to explore the right strategies such as several trainings and education, employee assessment in terms of human resources programs to increase productivity. The increasing rate on inflation from year 2010 to 2011 will be the opportunity for PT. ABDA Insurance Tbk to gain more premiums. The amount of motor vehicle is increasing in which this will lead to the incresing amount of premium for motor vehicle insurance. Customer loyalty should be increasing by a no-complicated procedures for customers to report a claim and get the claim settelement within the period of time. PT. ABDA Insurance Tbk should be courage to promote its company and the varieties of products to the society, for example PT. ABDA Insurance joint any insurance exhibitions to make society familiar with the company’s profile, products, and the achievements. PT. ABDA Insurance also may make advertising in the televison or toll road to make society attract new customers, and cooperate with infrastructure companies.
For the recommendation, PT. ABDA Insurance may support the employees to follow the examinations by AAMAI (Asosiasi Ahli Manajemen Asuransi Indonesia) to produce the next “insurance experts”. Make cooperation with big leading companies and the effectiveness of this cooperation, analyze the current training programs, explore the social and trends changes.
