The high incidence of terrorism that has claimed many lives and threats to a
country with a terrorist network around the world has made Singapore try to
increase and develop the defense of their country in overcoming and against
radicalization in their own country. In this case, Singapore which is the leader of
the economy in Southeast Asia tries to remain strong comprehensive and critical in against radicalism. Based on the history that had been experienced and also as the leader of economy in the Southeast Asia, Singapore tries to strengthen their national defense by conducting security cooperation with Indonesia in the field of military exercises to form joint-forces in against the threats of terrorism. The main reason Singapore for choosing Indonesia is because its neighbour is a political leader and also very close to Singapore's territory from its geographical fields in the region of Southeast Asia. Therefore, this activity can be a sustainable collaboration and can maintain the defense cooperation to both countries in various fields. |
