dc.description.abstract The Strategies of Republic of Korea In Protecting its Copyrights in Thailand: The Establishment of Korea Copyright Commission Bangkok Office (2007-2017), Rima Wahyuni Utami, 016201400147 This research attempts to explore the strategy of Republic of Korea in protecting its copyrighted works in Thailand. It is because copyright has been a significant issue in the modern international political economy today, such as the development of copyright industry and establishment of international agreements or treaties concerning copyright issue, namely Berne Convention and Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property (TRIPS) Agreement. However, those agreements are not enough to protect copyrighted works from infringement. Therefore, the research analyzes Korea and Thailand cooperation in copyright field with time frame of 2007-2017 as Korea established its state’s agency branch office called Korea Copyright Commission in Thailand in 2007 and significant cooperations were conducted during the period. This research uses qualitative research method by doing interpretive observation of multiple resources of such as books, journals, reports, treaties, law, news, official publications and interview. From the analysis, it was found that Korea used the third-generation agreement with a centralized international platform focus type of bilateral cooperation strategy. Specifically, through annual Korea-Thailand copyright forum, joint market research, joint training, and human resources exchange that increased both states’ understanding and knowledge regarding effective copyright law enforcement system and copyright industry. Which lead to the increasing cooperation between Korea and Thailand media companies and more legitimate licenses of Korean content in Thailand. en_US
