Abstract

The perceptions of Karang Asih people to the conflict between Ahok vs FPI and the influence of media to the conflict of Ahok vs FPI in Karang Asih, the propose of this research is to know the perception of Karang Asih people to the conflict Ahok vs FPI and how much 1

influence of media to this case in Karang Asih. The method of the research is qualitative with phenomenology approach which is used by the writer to describe the perception of Karang Asih people to this conflict. Karang Asih people assume that Ahok is a good leader for Jakarta but he has a rough style of speech, while FPI is an arrogant Islamic organization. This conflict is influenced by SARA and political element which is exposed by media . There are many Chinese people who are ethnic from Ahok itself and there are also many members of FPI in Karang Asih but this conflict between Ahok and FPI in Jakarta has not given any effect to the people in Karang Asih.
