Abstract:
Technology has been an integral part in this post-modern era where most of the population in the world used technology in day to day activities, for enterprise innovation, governmental organizations and many other fields. With its wide spread and rapid growth, technology has been gradually involved and relied on in such a mundane activity, specifically Smartphone usage. Smartphone is used every day for its usefulness in facilitating users in many aspects such as money transfer using Mobile Banking, navigate location and traffic tracking using a Smartphone application and many other usages. However, Smartphone usage often overused given the attachment of user with the Smartphone increases. Overused of the smartphone means user spent a considerable time in smartphone which can also indicates Smartphone usage around or during bedtime and wake time. This situation leads Smartphone user to covers sleeping time in exchange to more Smartphone usage time and if conserved this will disrupt user from maintaining or achieving better sleeping quality. Hence, with this situation in mind, this thesis aims to monitor user’s interaction with Smartphone and the sleep duration through Smartphone usages especially in the night time around bedtime and in the morning during wake time. This thesis also restricts users Smartphone usages during bedtime in hopes of assisting user in achieving better sleep quality.
