Abstract:
Street vendor (Pedagang Kaki Lima/PKL) is one of forms of informal sector’s activities. The objective of this study are to analyze and find street vendors’ potential to be able to access to financial resources. This research is quantitative research using primary data from questionnaire that been distributed to street vendors, to be exact street vendors who sell fried rice. The research conducted in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The method of data analysis used descriptive analysis and factor analysis that calculated by SPSS version 20.0 for Windows. The research result showed that there are 3 new potential of street vendors that will be new point of views for banks in order to make a pass to street vendors in loan, which is (1) awareness of street vendors’ legalization, (2) participation in vendor association and (3) earning stability. The result showed the prediction ability from all independent variables to street vendors’ potential is 45.1%, meanwhile the other 54.9% influenced by other variables that are not included in this research.
