dc.description.abstract |
This study discusses about how to understand how significant the role of tattoos as a form of self-disclosure towards adults
specifically those whose work related to public. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. The
criteria of the subject of this research are adults who wear tattoos whose work is related to the public. Data collection is
done by interview and observation. Furthermore, the tattoo itself will be analyzed using semiotics theory. The results
showed that the role of tattoo are quite important specifically for those who engage more with public. Tattoo becomes a medium to
convey their emotions when the subject is not able to express his emotions verbally. Tattoos also become therapeutic for subjects who
turn emotions from bad experiences into an art, both subjects tended to make tattoos a positive thing for their future careers and
personalities. |
