THE USE OF VISUAL MOTIF AS A SYMBOL OF THE CONFLICT TO ADD DRAMATIC EFFECT

Abstract

Film production process has several stages. In the production of films, the director has a very important role and responsibility for the overall activities in making a film. In the film production process, the director will work together with several departments to brainstorm and share the ideas that he wants to be conveyed in the film. The director has his own visual style in conveying the story or message that he wants to convey in a film. One of the visual styles that can be used in conveying a message or story in the film is the use of visual motifs. Apart from being a visual style in conveying a message or story in a film, visual motifs can also be used as support to add a dramatic effect to the film. The use of visual motif can also do by using symbols that will be repeatedly shown in several scenes in the film. In this research, I want to use a visual motif as a symbol of the conflict that will occur to add a dramatic effect to the film.
