dc.description.abstract Korean Wave coming from the Chinese word “Hallyu” is a term refers to the global phenomenon of South Korean pop culture that includes Korean films, performances, and music. Korean Wave has become a tool for South Korea in shaping a better national brand image and improve relationships with other countries including China. Through Korean films and television shows, the people of China become more familiar of the culture of South Korea and become interested in it which motivates entertainment industries and governments of both countries to collaborate in remaking and importing Korean films and programs. This thesis aimed to further elaborate the rise of Korean wave and the collaboration between South Korea and China in imports and remakes of South Korean contents in China as a part of Korean wave. Furthermore, it will focuses on how Korean wave contributes in improving the people-to-people relations between China and South Korea. The research methodology that is used for this thesis is qualitative research. The author of this thesis used the theory of Economic Cooperation in Creative Industry, Cultural Diplomacy, and Track II Diplomacy as the theoretical framework of this thesis. en_US
