Priorities of Indonesia‟s foreign policy in the period of President Joko Widodo
(2014-2018) are Indonesia‟s sovereignty, protection of Indonesian citizens,
economic diplomacy and improve role in the international world. In economic
diplomacy, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs needs to strengthen bilateral
cooperation and encourage the Indonesia‟s export products in other country. Palm
Oil is one of the main commodities of Indonesia and since few years ago
Indonesia became the world‟s largest producer of palm oil. Palm oil is major
contributor to the Indonesian economy and a key component in the nation‟s
strategic plan for sustained economic growth and rural development meanwhile,
India as the traditional market for Indonesia is the largest importer of palm oil.
This study analyzed the part of Indonesia economic diplomacy especially in
commercial diplomacy strategy to increase the export of palm oil to India which
in the recent years mostly declined. This research use book, journal and mostly
electronic publication that related to the research and can be used for support the
research. The data include book and journal that describe about commercial
diplomacy and legal data such as MoU, list of official visit then Indonesian and
India trade data. The result of this study is the strategy that used by government
and other actors in conducting the commercial diplomacy through MoU, official
visit, and trade promotion. |
