Abstract:
This research aims to know how significantly the technical analysis model in predicting the future stock price by using multiple linear regression methods for time series data by using statistical package software for social science (SPSS). The sample used is closing price of Indonesia Stock Exchange with 29,670 total data from 17 September 2015 to 27 July 2018 that taken daily except for Saturday and Sunday. This research found that MACD, RSI, Bollinger and ADX methods could not earn statistically significant returns. It means that profitable strategies by the fourth model are unable to accurately predict the future stock price. The relationship between theory and the fact shows that only a few technical analysis models relevant to the theory.
