Abstract:
Work-life balance is a heavily researched area of interest focusing on how well employee’s work and personal life are balanced. As there is still a lack of literature on work-life balance in Indonesia's context, our research attempts to explore in depth the topic. This research explores the effects of employee work-life balance, work load, job satisfaction and organizational commitment on employee performance in PT.XYZ. Questionnaire was used to collect data in PT.XYZ and the sample size was 50. Quantitative research method was used for data analysis using SmartPLStools. This study finds that work load, job satisfaction and organizational commitment are affecting work life balance directly. But, those variable are not effecting employee performance both direct and indirect. Also, employee work-life balance, work load, job satisfaction and organizational commitment is correlated with long working hour and occupational factors. As the findings indicate that work load, job satisfaction and organizational commitment can contribute to positive toward work life balance, we suggest PT.XYZ to attach more emphasis on employee work-life balance and take initiatives to help employee balance their work and personal life.
